Fast Bowlers Winter School

HA Cricket is offering young fast bowlers the opportunity to attend a winter fast bowling school under the watchful eye of Garry Hampson (former Nashua Titans opening bowler).

In modern cricket the ability to bowl fast while swinging/seaming the ball is a sought after skill, no matter what level you play at (schoolboy, club, provincial or national level). The training sessions will be aimed specifically at enhancing the bowlers action to eliminate the possibility of injury, increase pace, learn to swing the ball, bowl variations, learn the techniques of death and new ball bowling as well as improving tactical awareness will be covered. The use of video + photo analysis, technical analysis and correction, tactical discussions and presentations, suggested strength and conditioning advice will all aid in the bowlers development.

Information
Days:Two groups will be run to accommodate school practices. Group 1 will train on Monday afternoons & Group 2 will train on Thursday afternoons
Time: 4pm-5pm Venue: The UKZN Cricket Oval.
Age: Open to bowlers of all ages.
Duration: 8 weeks (start 1st week of August - last week September)

All physical training sessions will be outdoors to reduce the potential for injury.
